Chelsea transfer news speculates about Cesc Fabregas possibly leaving Stamford Bridge. There is a widespread speculation about Fabregas signing up for West Ham United. West Ham has already shown interest in snapping up the midfielder in January.
Chelsea transfer news has confirmed that the Premier League transfer window will open again in January 2017. This is when West Ham United has expressed their desire to sign Cesc Fabregas on a loan. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet but the deal seems to be a foregone conclusion.
Sports Nova reports that the midfielder’s career at Chelsea looks to be over. He is not in Antonio Conte’s wish list. The 29-year-old footballer has played just four times this season. Only one out of these four appearances has been at the start. He last played in the 3-0 defeat by Arsenal.
Ever since this defeat, Fabregas has not been handed a single start, fueling Chelsea transfer news rumors. Meanwhile, Chelsea is experiencing a purple patch as a team. They have not let in a single goal after that defeat and also scored an impressive 16 goals in return.
Why Fabregas Could Leave
The 3-4-3 formation employed by Conte has led to Fabregas sitting out in the cold. He is also more amenable towards leaving Chelsea. Fabregas wishes to play more in the first team and this could prompt his own decision as well.
West Ham United are reportedly preparing to submit a lucrative loan bid for getting Fabregas. Fabregas has three more years left on his contract. Chelsea is also considering subsidizing Fabregas’ wages in January 2017. This will help them move him out and a permanent transfer will take place when the season ends.
Fabregas is currently the third highest paid Chelsea player after Diego Costa and Eden Hazard. Along with Fabregas, Conte may also offload Ivanovic and Jon Obi Mikel in January. West Ham, on the other hand, may seek to keep Fabregas as a possible replacement for Payet.
