Titanfall 2 vs Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Review: TF2 Attacks COD, But Which has Better Gameplay?

It’s robots versus space soldiers! Birdies around Twitter show the spectacle in the rift between Titanfall and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. However, outside the tirades, let us look into the Titanfall vs Call of Duty Infinite Warfare review. Which game is better?

The tricky debacle escalated when gamers on Twitter noticed that a recent Titanfall 2 tweet was a jab against their competitor with a Call of Duty Infinite Warfare review.

According to the game’s Twitter account, its good reviews point at its competitor as a rather lackluster experience.

Fans and critics have praised Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall 2 as an “innovation and newness” in quite the big genre that is science fiction and FPS. It is also praised as having vast improvements from its predecessor.

However, the game has been under attack after its page compared its positive review to that of the negative ones of a  Call of Duty Infinite Warfare review. The Tweet quotes and even links IGN‘s Call of Duty Infinite Warfare review.

It may be helpful to point out that the gaming website gave the game a generous 7.7 out of 10. Regardless, this may be a healthy target for Respawn’s dev team given its history. Its original founders Jason West and Vince Zampella previously co-founded Infinity Ward. This originally developed the Call of Duty franchise. However, publisher Activision fired them and even filed a lawsuit against them.

Meanwhile, it may be important to ask at this point: is there really any difference between the two games?

It may be important to point out that late 2016 has been met with quite a lot of FPS releases. Electronic Arts released both Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 a week apart, in direct competition with Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.

Given that Titanfall 2 will be squished in between two FPS giants, even some analysts said its sales will be low and lackluster. However, this did not let Titanfall 2 perform poorly, as critics even praised both its story and multiplayer mechanics.

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Review: A Hard Battle in Sci-Fi

Titanfall 2 is set after the events of the first game. Its single-player campaign brings players to a heartwarming tale of friendship, moral conundrums and artificial intelligence. A Titan who has just lost its pilot chose the protagonist in a fit of “self-recognition.” This takes them on an adventure in another planet, encountering a number of alien creatures and enemy Titans along the way.

The game is praised for its improved class system and immense customization features. Its multiplayer also offered a lot of room of verticality. Which means, players can battle both on the horizontal and vertical planes. The ability to separate between Titans and Pilots are an essential mix as this both complicated and forces tactics in the multiplayer arena.

Meanwhile, any Call of Duty Infinite Warfare review will tell players that it is a science fiction story set in a time when planets are conquered for resources. As with any Call of Duty installment, the story is both intense and engaging. It talks of a future dominated by space “marine” soldiers that is defending Earth and her resources against rebels.

Players particularly praise the game’s realistic rendition of a potential future with space warfare. Its fast-paced multiplayer and new iterations to classes (called “Combat Rigs”) offer a new dimension to gameplay.

Regardless of the similarities, this proves that both games are catered to entirely different sets of players. Titanfall 2 is fit for a smaller audience who are fans of robot-based action and would like to implement ground-based reconnaissance tactics. Meanwhile, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare is for players who want to look for intense multiplayer action.
