New York Marathon 2016: Route, Start Time, Weather & Live Stream

New York Marathon 2016 updates have come in and a whopping 50, 000 runners are expected to participate. The TCS New York Marathon 2016 route  will pass through the five boroughs. Several streets will also be closed between 8 AM and 6.30 PM on Sunday.

The 46th annual marathon has generated a huge buzz in the city. The said will have runners moving through all five boroughs. It will be a grueling race throughout 26.2 miles in all.

NBC has given several New York Marathon 2016 updates in recent times. It is now known that 50, 000 runners are expected to participate. AccuWeather has also predicted a dry and slightly chilly day. It has also hinted at a northwestern breeze which may affect runners.

Some Other Key Details

The first wave from the starting line will start at 9.20 AM sharp. This will be composed of professional women racers. The last wave will be starting at 11 AM sharp. There are little chances of rain and there might be some sun too. However, the chill, cannot be avoided.

Temperatures will rise by the time the event gets over in the afternoon. The marathon will commence at Staten Island’s Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. However, temperatures will be quite chilly there with a strong wind.

If you wish to watch the New York Marathon 2016 live on television, you can tune in between 9 AM and 12 PM. ESPN2 will broadcast live on Sunday with John Anderson and Sage Steele. There will also be other commentators, reporters, and analysts.

People living in the New York tri-state zone can watch the WABC-TV Channel 7 between 9 AM and 2 PM. Pre-race coverage will start as early as 7 AM onwards. There will also be coverage of other weekend events centered on the race on WABC-TV.

There is a pre-season show on Saturday between 7.30-8 PM as well. There is another show between 5.30-6.30 PM on Friday. If you wish to watch online, you can catch it on ABC7NY.com between 7 AM and 2 PM. You can also use WatchESPN between 9 AM and 12.30 PM. All additional coverage will be provided on ESPN3.
