On the final week before the US elections 2016, new revelations have been made by WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange related to the leaked emails of Hillary Clinton. While initially adamant to share his source, the journalist confirms that it was not Russia who supplied the information.
Previously thought as dead after a period of silence, Assange has agreed to discuss the 30,000 plus emails that have been leaked on their website. The controversial emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server reveal worrisome topics that are of grave national interest. Included here are deals made by the former secretary of state and former president Bill Clinton’s chief-of-staff, John Podesta.
US Elections 2016: Clinton Emails Not From Russia!
While Clinton’s campaign has confirmed in public that the information published by Assange and his team came from Russia, Assange assures the public it is not. Though hesitant to divulge his source, Assange finally shared information on an exclusive interview with an Australian journalist, John Pilger.
According to Assange, he initially did not want to reveal his source but felt that he had to. The media are insistent in knowing who the source is instead of focusing on the material. The journalist in asylum though dismayed replied. “Saying nothing leads to a vacuum into which false claims about our sources can be projected. We tolerate such claims until they are used to distract from the publication. After careful consideration of the source protection requirements involved, we are confident that eliminating state parties does not appreciably increase the risks to our sources for this publication.”
His 25-minute interview with Pilger is to be aired on November 5. Assange said, “The Clinton camp has been able to project a neo-McCarthyist hysteria that Russia is responsible for everything. Hillary Clinton has stated multiple times, falsely, that 17 US intelligence agencies had assessed that Russia was the source of our publications. That’s false. We can say that the Russian government is not the source.”
US Elections 2016: Trump Reason For Email Leaks?
While the idea may seem far-fetched for some, speculations are surfacing that Donald Trump is responsible for the re-opening of Clinton’s private email server case. According to Slate, the Guardian reveals that the FBI is pro-Trump. A current FBI agent shares that the bureau is “Trumpland” saying, “the reason why they’re (the FBI) leaking is they’re pro-Trump.”
In addition. Wayne Barrett of the Daily Beast who has been covering Trump stories for a long time shares that FBI Agents Association with 13,000 plus people are supported by Rudy Giuliani, a top Trump supporter. In addition, Trump Foundation has supported and still is supporting several agents both current and past.
Because of this, there is a strong possibility that Assange’s sources might have come from Trump, indirectly.
None of this has been proven at the moment yet despite the US elections nearing. Both Clinton and Trump are still fighting at wits end both publicly and presumably, privately in order to gain supporters from the electoral congress especially.
