Detroit Tigers Trade talks have been dominating the internet for a while now. There is an ample buzz concerning a potential shift by Ian Kinsler to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Tigers may even pitch for Trayce Thompson in exchange.
As per the latest Detroit Tigers Trade news, the Tigers are looking to trade Ian Kinsler to the Dodgers. They will be angling for Trayce Thompson, Austin Barnes, Alex Wood and Mitchell White.
According to Fansided the latest Detroit Tigers trade rumors suggest that the Dodgers will find Kinsler a perfect fit. Kinsler will be a solution to the otherwise dismal performance of the team’s second baseman group. The Dodgers will need a second baseman even more since starting second Chase Utley could be a free agent post the World Series.
The Tigers will be happy to receive two talented future prospects and two massive talents. In his 80 games for the Dodgers, Thompson has already impressed them with his three positional abilities. He has already scored 31 runs and collected 32 RBI along with amassing five stolen bases, 13 home runs, and 11 doubles.
Why Thompson Still Counts?
He is also ranked before Adrian Gonzalez, Corey Seager and Yasiel Puig in the Dodgers’ tally courtesy his .212 ISO. He could be a regular center fielder for the Tigers. The Tigers may also consider shifting him to a corner position in case Justin Upton or J.D. Martinez leaves sometime soon.
Additionally, Alex Wood might be a player received in exchange for Martinez as per other rumors. Thompson remains arbitration ineligible till the end of the 2018 season. Woods and Thompson are both controllable throughout 2019 and 2021 respectively.
Austin Barnes is also being closely evaluated by the Tigers since he can play both second and third base. Being a backup catcher which is a rarity of sorts, he might prove to be really handy over a period of 7-8 years. White is a good pitcher who has not allowed a single run yet while playing professionally.
