Grand Theft Auto 6 has been tantalizing fans and enthusiasts ever since some teasers came out. However, there is now widespread furor over a halt in production due to several issues. There is also speculation that the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 is responsible for this stoppage.
According to the Parent Herald, Grand Theft Auto 6 is also facing an issue with an entirely new setting. The next installment of this iconic racing game franchise has reportedly been witnessing a production halt as per sources.
Why Production of the Grand Theft Auto 6 Has Been Suspended
As per reports, Grand Theft Auto 6 production is temporarily suspended till further notice is given. The developers are reportedly striving to create a whole new setting for the franchise. They are also striving to shift base to Japan’s capital Tokyo from the United States.
The company is facing several issues with this switch in settings. This majorly concerns the brands that will feature in the sixth part and also the cars. The Rockstar game developers are supposedly serious about this plan in spite of the problems being faced.
There are other issues revolving around time constraints according to several other rumors. This is because Rockstar is all set to launch the second Red Dead Redemption title. This Western game will release in 2017 fall. There is ample time left for the developers to neatly furnish this game minus any GTA 6 distractions. This may be something that is getting in the way of production for Grand Theft Auto 6.
Several fans are calling for Rockstar to scale up their workforce so that the production and final release of GTA 6 are not hampered. In other issues, ex-president Leslie Benzies has already filed lawsuits against his earlier colleagues. Benzies is a key player in the GTA series production since he was earlier the lead developer of this popular franchise.
GTA 6 has yielded lucrative revenues for several years now. However, budgetary constraints have also been bugging the gaming company beyond belief. The release date may be moved even further with some hinting at even 2020.
However, VR support and several other enticing features may be part of the final title.
