The social media spat between Fast 8 co-stars Vin Diesel and The Rock might have been a “publicity stunt” to promote the Fast 8 movie set for release in April 2017.
The Life & Style magazine quoted an insider as saying, “They are playing a huge prank, and it’s all for publicity.”
Dwayne Johnson reportedly told Diesel to fire up the discord between them so it could bring on a WWE match. The objective is to hype publicity for Fast and Furious 8, the insider added.
The two Furious stars have been beefing since The Rock griped about some of his co-stars on an Instagram post. The post generated 3.9-million views.
“My male co-stars, however, are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand-up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right,” Johnson said on his post.
The 49-year-old Fast 8 movie star, tries to make peace with The Rock, reported Page Six . “The reason we brought Dwayne Johnson into ‘Fast 5’ was because of you! There was a [fan] named Jan Kelly who said, ‘I would love to see you guys work together on screen.’ So we gave the role that was originally written for Tommy Lee Jones, we gave it to Dwayne and he shined in it,” Diesel said in a Facebook video.
But The Rock , 44, ignored Diesel and instead, thanked his Fast 8 co-stars, except Diesel, on an Instagram post, Page Six reported.
WWEUniverse YouTube video is promoting the match between the Fast 8 movie co-stars.
The more experienced Johnson at 6’5” height is likely to beat Diesel who is only 5’11”.
The WWE match Wrestle Mania 33, is set on April 2, almost two weeks before the Fast 8 movie release at Florida’s Camping World in Orlando, according to Daily Mail.
