CW has just released The Vampire Diaries season 8 spoilers before the long-running vampire series airs its final installment on October 21.
The series is, unfortunately, finally ending after season 8 and despite its ups and downs, we admit that we will surely miss watching the strikingly handsome brothers, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) Salvatore. Of course, we’ll also miss the other cast as well.
First aired on 2009, the story is about the love triangle between the two brothers and Nina Dobrev’s Elena Gilbert. Though speculations about cancellations spread like crazy online after Dobrev left the show at the end of season 6, The Vampire Diaries continued on the next season. However, ratings plummeted causing the installment to air in a dead time slot.
However, executive producer, Julie Plec is happy with ending it at season 8, saying “It’s so rare for a show to get to last this long, and what a privilege that Mark Pedowitz and Peter Roth have allowed us to choose the time to end the journey on our own creative terms. It’s been eight of the best years of my life. I will miss it terribly, but I’m so proud to be here to see it to its proper end.”
Vampire Diaries Season 8 Spoilers
Though it’s a hard pill to swallow, we must accept that all good things come to an end. And speaking of a good thing, the trailer released by CW is causing shivers down our spines.
Stefan, Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Caroline (Candice King) continue to look for Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and they are nowhere near finding the two. And while the three are busy searching for the lost Salvatores, Damon seems to be lost deeper in the dark. The vampire tells his brother Enzo, “You can’t save me.”
Enzo, on the other hand, seems very concerned about the force that has overtaken them. “When does this end? How many more bodies until you’re full,” asks the desperate Enzo.
E! has also shared clips of Damon, back to his season 1 ways, that is luring young couples on streets and taking them to their human slaughterhouse. The only difference this time is that he has a partner in Enzo.
Damon does not look like he’s going to be in any real danger anytime soon. In fact, it looks like he’s the one causing danger to others. One thing to look out for in the trailer is the evil entity making them do these things seems to have slowly revealed himself (or not!).
The final season will also be seeing new characters namely Selena (Kristen Gutoskie), Alaric (Matt Davis) and Caroline’s (Candice King) new nanny. Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) will also be back in season 8.
However, rumors that Elena will be back are still unconfirmed and the likelihood of that is slim to none at the moment. But anything can happen in the last season, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
The Vampire Diaries kicks off its eighth and final season on Friday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
