As it turns out, Betty White death rumors that have spread like wildfire on the internet recently was nothing but a play in words.
The 94-year old Golden Girls actress, who’s fan-base is spread over several generations, has been the internet’s most talked about topic due to an article that fueled speculations of her demise.
Empire News reported on 2014 about White and how she colors her hair by herself. But it’s headline “Actress Betty White, 93, Dyes Peacefully In Her Los Angeles Home”, if not re-read carefully, would appear to mean that the actress “Dies Peacefully” instead of “Dyes Peacefully.”
How the article re-surfaced is still a mystery but the Betty White death rumors has fans all over the world taken aback. Especially since the actress recently appeared as guest star in Crowded season 1 with no signs of severe illness.
Betty White Dyes, Not Dies!
According to the report, White is actually not a blonde but a brunette. The report adds that the actress prefers to dye her own hair at home as it relaxes her and has done it for decades already.
“She has been dyeing her own hair in her home for decades. Betty has often told me she feels it is relaxing and soothing to dye her own hair, peacefully in her home, where she can laugh and enjoy time with her animals. She’s said on more than one occasion that as a blonde, she has had ‘more fun’ in her roles, and in life,” shares her long-time manager Jeff Witjas.
She started dyeing her hair when her natural color was starting to fade and turn grayish, saying “I thought to myself, ‘Well Betty, if you can’t have the dark color anymore, might as well try on the blonde for a while,’ and it just kind of stuck.”
The former-brunette does not keep it a secret. In fact, she shares that she actually thinks it is something she’s had a sense of humor about. “The joke about my natural hair color made it into several episodes [of Girls]. I’ve always had a sense of humor about it.”
Betty White Death Hoax
Betty White death rumors turns out to be another celebrity death hoax, a trend growing in popularity online.
White joins a long list of celebrity death hoax victims from the favorite victim, Jaden Smith who has been proclaimed dead by rumors more than three times in just a year, Justin Bieber, Sylvester Stallone, Hugh Hefner, Brad Pitt and more.
There is no exact pattern for who the next victim to these rumors is but one thing is for certain: celebrity death rumors are everywhere and Betty White is just another victim. The 94-year old actress is still alive and well, dyeing in her own home by herself.
