Playboy millionaire mogul, Hugh Hefner dead rumors were confirmed false last week by police and even by Hef himself.
Rumors circulated the internet of Hugh Hefner dead last Thursday after a New York Post article wrote about the 90-year old Playboy founder’s deteriorating health, probably due to old age. The report says that Hef has not been seen in public for months already.
Because of the report, speculations surfaced with many different speculations about his death but most of which was because of his old age.
Because of such rumors, the police has taken action and visited the Playboy mansion to check on Hefner upon endorsement of TMZ.
Upon checking, however, the police confirmed that the mogul was alive and well.
According to NBC Los Angeles, “Officers responded to the Playboy founder’s home just before 10:30 a.m. Friday”
“This obviously did not happen,” LAPD Officer Mike Lopez said. “Mr. Hefner spoke with an officer at the West LA station and confirmed he’s OK.”
Further, Teri Thomerson, a Playboy Enterprises spokeswoman, confirmed Hugh Hefner dead rumors are false.
“I’m not sure how these rumors get started but as I’ve already stated, Hugh Hefner is fine. It is no secret that over the past few years he has suffered with back pain that has made it a bit more challenging for him to get around, but at 90 years of age he is enjoying his life and still very involved in the day to day activities of editing the magazine.”
Hefner is not the first celebrity to have been reported dead. In fact, celebrity death hoax are quite an internet trend thesedays. Just ask Jaden Smith!
Hef responded to the rumors with humor sharing in Twitter, “I wish the tabloids had informed me a little earlier in the week that I’m sick,” he wrote. “I might have cancelled my plans.”
