Transformers 5 The Last Knight has started filming on the streets of Newcastle, featuring jaw-dropping cars in perfect contrast with the old-world feel of the city.
The fifth installment of the fan favorite is set to premiere on the big screen by June 23, 2017. Filming is already on way as the production was spotted at Newcastle with a spectacular lineup of the Autobot’s human… uh, car-counterparts.
Flashy New Wheels for the Autobots
Still on Transformers 5 is Bumblebee who will be rocking the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro form. Joining him are newcomers Hot Rod as a Lamborghini Centenario; former Decepticon-turned-Autobot, Drift, in a Mercedes-AMG GT R; and Crosshairs, who will be driving around as a Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray.
Excited onlookers have been tweeting videos of the beautiful cars, and a car chase scenes being filmed.
Transformers 5: The Last Knight Cast and Setting
According to Cinema Blend, the cast for Transformers The Last Knight might include Liam Garrigan who will be playing the role of King Arthur, which he has played before in Once Upon A Time. Other stars confirmed to be in the fifth Transformers are familiar faces Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and Stanley Tucci.
New faces will also be joining the installment including Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael, Laura Haddock, Santiago Cabrera and Anthony Hopkins.
The movie is said to be going back in time during the Medieval Age incorporating the Arthurian legends, yet still filming scenes on the present day.
Daily Mail reports that Wahlberg and Hopkins were seen filming in the iconic Alnwick Castle in Northern England where the popular book-turned-movie Harry Potter (Hogwarts) was also filmed. Some other series filmed in the location are Elizabeth and Downton Abbey.
However, this is only one of the few locations Transformers 5 The Last Knight is set to film. Other destinations include Havana, Phoenix and Detroit.
Is Michael Bay Still Director?
Michael Bay confirms he will still be directing the latest Transformers franchise, he also said that this is going to be his last one.
“I’m doing Transformers 5, is it? I’ve taken on a lot of work…It’s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else. J.J. [Abrams] told me, ‘You’re the only guy that could do this.’ But it’s time to move on. One more.”
