Drake is still enjoying the success of his 2016 record, Views. The rapper’s fourth studio album was one of the most awaited drops of the year, and proved to be a hit. It stayed atop the Billboard 200 chart for 12 weeks, and was the Hot 100 number 1 for 10 weeks.
However, his 2016 album’s success doesn’t seem enough for Drizzy. The Toronto-based rapper recently confirmed that he is already working on his new record, with “six or seven new songs” already done. The announcement comes less than five months after his last record was released. Whoa!
“I been on this tour and I’ve been recording new music. I’m about like maybe six or seven new songs in. Just getting warmed up,” Drake shared to the Tacoma crowd of his Summer Sixteen tour.
The announcement was, of course, met by cheers from the fans.
Drake’s revelation definitely makes people want to more details about the album. Would it be released next year? What is the album name? Who will be in it?
So far nothing has been confirmed yet, but the 29-year-old rapper confirmed that he’d be performing the new tracks soon.
“I don’t know where they’re going to end up or what it’s going to be, but I can’t wait to come back to m*therf***ing Tacoma and play all that sh*t for you,” he added.
