Brock Lesnar is dismantling everyone in his way — from the octagon all the way to the squared circle. Now, the Beast Incarnate is out to fight one of the biggest WWE superstars in history, Dwayne Johnson. Rumors have it a Brock Lesnar vs The Rock match is scheduled for WWE 2016 Clash of Champions.
Can you smell what The Rock is cooking? ‘Cause Brock Lesnar can’t.
In a recent interview, the former WWE champion revealed that he has his eyes on The Rock, and he wants a face-off with him. Lesnar told The Sun that he thinks a super fight with the wrestler-turned-actor would be one of the biggest fights in WWE history. However, his camp teased that The Rock is running scared of the UFC fighter.
“Notice how The Rock picks fights with Bray Wyatt, or fights with Rusev and John Cena? Notice how The Rock doesn’t pick a fight with Brock Lesnar?” Paul Heyman, Lesnar’s official advocate, told The Sun.
While The Rock may have cemented his name in Hollywood, his recent WWE biodata isn’t as impressive. After being named as the highest pad actor of 2016 by Forbes, Dwayne Johnson has been focusing more on his acting career than wrestling. Brock and his camp thinks this move is just a way to deflect a possible match with the MMA fighter.
“Is Brock Lesnar ready for The Rock? Is The Rock ready for Brock?” Heyman rhetorically asked.
Brock Lesnar vs The Rock at WWE Clash of Champions 2016
Should the Brock Lesnar vs The Rock fight push through, it would definitely be a milestone for WWE. Will it happen at WWE Clash of Champions 2016? Possibly not, as the Pay Per View event is only a week away. However, the match may take place next year at Wrestlemania 33.
Heyman also thinks that the fight would sell-out. Not because of The Rock, but because of Lesnar.
“I think Brock Lesnar against anyone is an automatic sell-out. Brock does not wrestle 52 Monday’s a year on Monday Night Raw, he does not come to your home town every week, his appearances are rare,” Heyman revealed to The Sun.
“They are unique and extraordinary. Which is why, whenever Brock Lesnar appears it is a rare and unique opportunity for the paying customer to see the greatest living athlete in the history of WWE appear live in an extraordinary event that only Brock Lesnar can deliver on.”
Aside from a possible The Rock match, Lesnar is also rumored to face the Dead Man as The Undertaker return gets scheduled. Goldberg and Sting are also being thrown in the rumor mill, but so far nothing has been confirmed. One thing is for sure, WWE 2016 fans would love to see Brock Lesnar back in the ring. Hopefully at WWE Clash of Champions 2016.
