Bruce Wayne won’t be able to return to Arkham this July as originally plannedcd. He regrets the decision, but other urgent matters have arisen, the billionaire playboy’s publicist revealed today. Master Wayne assures all inmates of Asylum that though his appearance at his been postponed, it hasn’t been cancelled. He’ll be there, or he’ll be square.
WB left word via their forums that the Arkham remaster would not be out when originally planned.
After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.
I can’t help but wonder if “polish” refers to some of the negative criticism thrown at the remaster. Certain aspects of the game’s graphical fidelity seemed superior in the previous versions, notably the lighting and some of the hair.
Of course polish could simply be Virtuous Games wanting to squeeze as many frames per second out of Batman: Arkham Asylum and City as possible, or making sure it’s as stable as possible.
Though the remaster isn’t coming to PC, I would at least hope that Arkham Knight’s PC reception would at least give them a little pause before releasing another shoddy Batman game on any platform.
