The eagerly awaited Doom release date has been leaked by Amazon France. The, potential, slip up by Amazon France for the Doom release date was uncovered by Twitter user MasterGamer24680 and IGN. The original page on Amzon France was showing a date of the 30th June 2016 across Xbox, PS4 and PC, however this has now been changed to December 2016. Doom, in case you are too young to remember it, was the ultimate first person monster shot ’em up. The game was years ahead of its contemporaries and is a hall of famer level game, including two player multiplayer split screen. We really loved the BFG! (Google it if you don’t know).
Developed by id software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch,DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. The image above shows what we were working with back in the day. More recently though Id Software have release some new screenshots from the upcoming next-gen game via the GameInformer magazine via Reddit user techiesbesthero. The screenshots are looking freakin’ awesome to be honest. Some scary looking stuff in there, in particular we are loving the flaming skull. Images below, click for bigger images:
