House of Wolves, the second expansion to the first-person shooter game Destiny, is coming soon to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The release, announced today, is planned for Tuesday, May 19, 2015. It can be purchased for $20, or as part of an expansion pass for $35. The DLC will be for sale at retailers including Amazon, Gamestop, the Playstation Store and the Xbox Store.
What’s in House of Wolves?
According to a leak, the expansion will consist of:
- A brand new Awoken storyline with a DLC-exclusive raid titled “The Arena”
- Three new maps for the player-vs-player Crucible game mode, and a new Fallen Strike
- “Hundreds” of items including armor, weapons and gear
However, Bungie community manager David Dague (DeeJ) warned that the actual contents of the House of Wolves update are subject to change.
“We have a team working on the experience in their own fancy room, and they have some exciting surprises up their sleeves,” said Dague.
A trailer for the game (embedded at the top of this post) was released today, featuring a preview of what the expansion will include.
The trailer starts off displaying a flag waving during a snowstorm. A female voice speaks, “When the fallen sought to destroy us, I protected the Reef. In the end, they all bowed before me. We showed them mercy and and offered them a home.”
Imagery of Destiny characters and environments is displayed.
“They met that mercy with betrayal. They will feel my wrath. Open the Reef to the Guardians. Offer the riches of our realm as bounty of these traitors. Let the hunt begin,” ends the narrator.
