Shovel Knight Will Be Discounted On PlayStation 4, Vita, 3

Yacht Club Games has announced that its indie hit Shovel Knight will be available for purchase on the PlayStation 3, Vita, and 3 on April 21st.

From April 21st through April 27th, the game will be on sale exclusively for members of PlayStation Plus, as part of the Spring Fever sale. It will be sold for $13.49 – roughly a dollar and a half off its usual price of $14.99.

This year’s Spring Fever will last twice as long as last year’s; it will span eight weeks from March 3rd to April 27th.

A number of other games will also be released and sold during the event. They are HELLDIVERS, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, Jamestown+, Metal Slug 3, Axiom Verge, and Titansouls. Some of these games are exclusive to the PlayStation, while others will be available on the PS4 for the first time.

Additionally, certain video game and movie franchises will be included in the promotion. During the first week of Spring Fever, games from the LEGO series and the The Hobbit movies will have a special price. Call of Duty games and movies in the Taken franchise will be marked down during the final week. A list of sales corresponding with every week can be found on the official PlayStation blog.

Shovel Knight is a platformer game that was originally released in 2014. It has a style reminiscent of old arcade machines from the 20th century. Players control the Shovel Knight and attempt to save the princess from the villain named the Enchantress. The game features many secrets in its detailed maps; in fact, it even has a New Game+ mode that allows players to restart the game to discover parts of it they may have missed before. In the future, the game’s developers plan to release new downloadable content, such as playable bosses and new game modes.

For those who do not wish to play the game on a PlayStation console, the game is also available DRM-free on the developer’s website for $15. It is supported on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, and can be purchased as a gift.

A deluxe version which comes with a digital manual is also available for $25. In the future, it will also come bundled with a book of digital art.
