Yesterday Nordic Games, developers of Painkiller and Alan Wake announced that they would be rolling out their own humble bundle.
Humble bundles have been popular for some time. In this model, several quality games are bundled together and buyers may pay any price they choose. Generally, though, they will receive more titles if they pay at least the “suggested price”. In this case, six dollars.
For those that pay at least one dollar Nordic’s bundle includes:
- Red Faction: Armageddon
- Supreme Commander
- Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance
- The Guild 2
- Neighbors From Hell Compilation
Those that meed the six dollar price point recieve four additional games:
- Painkiller: Hall & Damnation
- Darksiders II
- SpellForce 2: Faith in Destiny
Possibly the most interesting part in all of this is the fact that buyers will have the option of where their money goes. After the purchase, players decide how their cash is dispersed between the developer, two charities, and Humble Bundle. Since Nordic’s hefty purchase of Darksiders and Red Faction last summer, many have wondered what direction they would go – it’s heartening to see the new properties used for a good cause.
“The Humble Weekly Sale is an excellent example of the quality and breadth of titles we now have, enabling us to get involved in something of genuine mutual benefit to all those involved,” said Thomas Reisinger, Key Account Manager Online Sales from Nordic Games. “This is such a fantastic deal for gamers and an innovative pricing structure to boot, PLUS it’s all for a good cause. This is an excellent and worthy way to get our recently expanded portfolio of top-tier titles in to gamers’ hands.”
