With Grand Theft Auto V being released to such critical acclaim, the company has left many gamers chomping at the bit, attempting to figure out when they will be able to get to play the online multi player version of the game that has been eagerly awaited by players thus far.
A new file that was discovered on the Rockstar Games’ website hints toward the fact that micro-transactions may be available in the game. This would allow players to purchase money in the game, and would give them access to a wide variety of different multiplayer tools within Grand Theft Auto V.
With the release of this information, users on the popular Internet forum Reddit began sleuthing in an attempt to find out more about the potential purchases that could be made within the game. Apparently, the store section in the pause menu requests a file that is located on the Rockstar servers. This file has listings for a variety of different items including an atomic lamp, as well as content from special edition and collectors edition of the game. At some point, these versions and additional content from the game will be made available, but they are currently not available now.
Also referenced in the file are a number of “cash cards” that range anywhere from $100,000 to $1.25 million. It is not currently clear exactly what these cash cards could potentially be used for. It is believed that these cash cards will have some effect on the online experience, allowing players to purchase items in game.
It will be interesting to see how Rockstar designs their micro-transactions and how they will be received by users. Depending upon the game, micro-transactions have been received differently, depending upon how they are implemented. With Grand Theft Auto V becoming one of the best reviewed games of all time, it will be interesting to see if the micro-transactions have a positive or negative reaction from users.
