Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition Set for Release in October
Patient gamers, your wait will soon be over. First leaked last month by the Australian Classification Board, Bethesda has just announced the Game of the Year edition for Arkane Studios’ Dishonored, arguably the best AAA game to come out of 2012 (sorry, Borderlands 2). If for some reason you were in a coma or a third-world country without internet access in the months before its release, Dishonored is a stealth FPS with supernatural elements and a steampunk vibe.
I use the term FPS loosely, because for me, the game really shined when I was teleporting around the world and silently waiting for the guards blathering about whiskey and cigars to turn around so I could sneak by. That’s not to say slaughtering the same guards wasn’t incredibly fun, but stealth freaks like me will likely find this one quite satisfactory.
The GOTY Edition will be released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC October 8th in North America, while the European version will come out October 11th. It’s quite reasonably priced at $39.99. It includes all of the game’s DLC: The Brigmore Witches, Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall and Void Walker’s Arsenal, as well as a double-sided poster.
The DLC is more than worth the money on its own, especially the two additional campaigns, The Brigmore Witches and The Knife of Dunwall. Both of which have you playing as Daud, the major antagonist of the base game, which was almost more satisfying and definitely more interesting than seeking revenge as Corvo. Check out the cover below:
If you haven’t picked up Dishonored and you’re remotely interested in eviscerating people with spring razors attached to rats, this will be the time to do it.
