Battlefield 4 is easily one of the most anticipated titles to be released later this year, which will be arriving on the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Speaking on the PC release of this title, DICE has now confirmed support for DX11.1, which is exclusive on Windows 8.
According to a report by DSO Gaming, DICE Technical Director Johan Andersson has confirmed that Battlefield 4 to for support DX11.1, which will also provide enhanced CPU performance.
We use DX11.1, there are some optimizations in it (constant buffer offsets, dynamic buffers as SRVs) that we got in to the the API that improves CPU performance in our rendering when one runs with DX11.1. This will be in BF4.
Battlefield 4 is currently scheduled to be released on October 29, 2013 in North America.
