While the Battlefield franchise has become known for having a sandbox single player experience, the last addition to the franchise, Battlefield 3, contained a much more linear campaign than previous titles. Thankfully, DICE has decided to change this for the upcoming Battlefield 4.

With Battlefield 3 being labeled as having a very linear campaign, DICE has confirmed that they will be bringing elements of are from the multiplayer portion of Battlefield 4 into the single player campaign. With this said, players can expect a much more sandbox type of gameplay experience to come from the single player campaign for Battlefield 4.

Karl Magnus of DICE had the following to say:

“There are signature multiplayer elements that we want to bring into single-player. We want to give the player a choice. Do they want to go for the sneaky approach with a sniper rifle and a silenced pistol, or do they want to take a jeep and have the entire squad shoot at everything they see?”

Battlefield 4 Is currently scheduled to be released on October 29 for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. This title is also coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One once these systems are released.
