Even though it is already known that Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will be coming out for the PlayStation 4 (amongst other platforms), and it was also rumoured back in April that the game would be a launch title too. Now it has been recently confirmed that bigwig publisher Ubisoft’s next-gen title – Assassin’s Creed 4 – will be coming to both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 as launch titles.
During E3, Ubisoft’s game director Ashraf Ismail told ElderGeek in an interview that Assassin’s Creed 4 will be “launch titles for those platforms.” Ismail also said that a PC version of Assassin’s Creed 4 won’t be available until “a few weeks” after it releases on current consoles on October 29, but he then added – despite saying that Ubisoft is working hard on a PC version – that he wasn’t sure.
What is for sure, though, is that Assassin’s Creed 4 will be coming out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U on October 29 (North America), with a PC version soon afterwards. It will also be coming out as a launch title for the next-gen consoles later on this year.
A PC version of any previous Assassin’s Creed game has always been after their initial console releases, and have always been at a space of several months apart (with the exception of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations). This leads me to be quite sceptical of Assassin’s Creed 4 coming out “a few weeks” it’s initial release on current-gen platforms. However, because the PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations came out so soon after its console release, I have my hopes that Assassin’s Creed 4 will get a PC version soon after the consoles get their versions first.
How do you feel about the PC version of ‘Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’ coming out a few weeks after the console versions?? Let us know in the comments!
