‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Details Revealed Through Online Retailer Listing
A product listing from online retailer Tesco Direct, has revealed some information on the next Call of Duty game due this year. According to the listing, the game “Call of Duty: Ghosts” will be released on November 4th, and will feature a new story, setting, and cast.
While a new Call of Duty game being released this year is hardly top secret information, what is interesting is that the subtitle is neither “Modern Warfare” or “Black Ops”. The last main Call of Duty game not under the Modern Warfare or Black Ops brand was was Call of Duty: World at War released in 2008.
Also the listing mentions a “new next-generation Call of Duty engine”. Call of Duty games have used the same engine since Call of Duty 2, which gets tweaked and updated with each new game in order to keep a smooth frame rate. It probably won’t be too long before Activision spills the beans because what seems to be a teaser for the game has appeared on the official Call of Duty website. The image looks like the mask worn by the character “Ghost” in Modern Warfare 2, with the words “The Ghosts Are Real.” imposed across it.
With the image complete, we should be officially hearing about Call of Duty: Ghosts very soon.
