The Last Of Us Has Officially Been Delayed
Naughty Dog’s creative director, Neil Druckmann, posted on Playstation’s official blog on Wednesday that their highly anticipated post-apocalyptic horror game ‘The Last Of Us’ has been officially delayed.
This marks the first time in history Naughty Dog has pushed back a release date after announcing it to the public, but before you break out the pitch forks, know that the game has only been delayed onto the following month – originally set to come out on May 7th, we can now expect to get our hands on it just a few weeks later on June 14th worldwide.
Druckmann’s original statement below:
“As we entered the final phase of development for The Last of Us, we came to realize just how massive Joel and Ellie’s journey is. But instead of cutting corners or compromising our vision, we came to the tough decision that the game deserved a few extra weeks to ensure every detail of The Last of Us was up to Naughty Dog’s internal high standards”
“As a team we pride ourselves on setting a very high quality bar for every aspect of our games – gameplay, story, art, design, technology and more. We want to make sure The Last of Us raises that bar even further – for ourselves, and most importantly, for you, our fans.”
Druckmann makes it clear that this game is, “easily the longest campaign Naughty Dog has ever made,” which should ease the minds of some eager fans upset by the delay. ’The Last Of Us’ is sure to not lose much of the excitement as Naughty Dog’s high reputation should be enough to cover for the postponing of the game.
What do you think, is this a game worth waiting for? Fill up that comment section down below and tell us your thoughts.
