Fans of The Elder Scrolls can now sign up for the beta of the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online and to celebrate this milestone Bethesda have put out a stunning new CGI trailer for the game.
The Elder Scrolls Online is set to bring Bethesda’s critically acclaimed world of Tamriel to the massively multiplayer online gaming space and fans of the series are now able to go and apply for beta access via the games website. The game is set an entire millennium prior to the previous games in the series (Skyrim and Oblivion) and will allow players to take part in the conflict between the Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant and Ebonheart Pact as they struggle to claim the throne of Tamriel’s Emperor for their own.
Coinciding with the beta signups, Bethesda has put out a new CGI trailer for the game that shows the three factions in glorious pre-rendered action:
While it’s unfortunate that the trailer doesn’t show what the actual gameplay of The Elder Scrolls Online will be, it is a very well made and graphically crisp trailer that shows off the game’s factions and classes quite nicely.
The Elder Scrolls Online is set for a release later this year on both PC and Mac. Anticipation is mixed regarding the game with some fans doubting the ability of this installment to compete with the MMO-giant that is World of Warcraft and others looking forward to exploring the entire continent of Tamriel in a single persistent server. Where do you think – Will the game be the underdog that topples Warcraft or another Warhammer Online?
